Exhibition: The 1776 American Atlas & more from Dunblane’s historic Leighton Library

Throughout May, in Dunblane Museum, Dunblane’s historic Leighton Library is holding its first exhibition of ten maps from an American collection dated 1776.  On display will also be a number of rare first edition books with an American theme.

Entrance is free both to Dunblane Museum and to this exhibition within Dunblane Museum. Donations at the exhibition will be gratefully received towards the Leighton Library’s restoration and renovation fund.

The Leighton Library is the oldest purpose-built library in Scotland, established in 1687. Founded on the collection of Robert Leighton, Bishop of Dunblane, 1661-1670, later Archbishop of Glasgow, it is across the road from the Museum.

Come and enjoy our heritage, on your doorstep!
