About Us

Dunblane Museum houses a collection of artefacts, paintings, prints and photographs about the Cathedral and Dunblane, and it has one of the largest collections of Communion tokens.

Thousands of visitors from all parts of the world visit during our summer season. They can also browse the gift shop for souvenirs and enjoy a stroll in the garden.

The garden courtyard is overlooked by a two-storey exhibition hall, opened in our last major redevelopment in 2009. This largely glass fronted building now overlooks the 16th century well at the centre of the garden.

As well as increasing the space for displays, work was also undertaken to completely re-design the displays throughout the museum, add disabled access including a lift, and areas for research, as well as undertake essential work to better protect and display the artefacts.

The museum has some burial and genealogical records of Dunblane people and the volunteers are always willing to help visitors trying to trace their family origins.

The Museum is run by Trustees and a team of volunteers.

The building is owned by the Society of Friends of Dunblane Cathedral.
