ABOUT THE ARTIST
Diana Hand is a regular exhibitor in Dunblane Museum Gallery. She has been a professional artist and maker for many years and has shown her work throughout the UK. Her work is also in collections throughout the world. Diana is a graduate of the Glasgow School of Art and holds a Master's degree from Edinburgh College of Art. In this exhibition she presents a series of drawings inspired by a visit to the Royal Stables (established 1567) in Cordoba, Andalusia. The Stables are a centre for equestrian excellence. There is superb rapport and understanding between the humans and their beautiful Lusitano horses. Diana wants to convey the formal and informal moments in this ancient and atmospheric setting. Both are vital in the experience of horsemanship. The drawings are charcoal and pastel on paper and canvas. Diana lives near Stirling and works from a farm studio in upper Forth Valley. www.dianahand.com
